Bluethenthal Wildflower Preserve
Area
Wilmington
About
As you hike the cypress and pine covered trails in this ten acre preserve, marvel at the insect consumption of pitcher plants, or relax to a symphony of songbirds, say a little thank you to Mrs. Bluethenthal Pronunciation: (blee-then-thal) and the members of the UNCW who had the foresight to protect this wonderful woodland habitat. Because of their vision and action, everyone will forever have this natural memorial and wildflower preserve located in the center of the UNCW main campus. This ten acre forest is now certified as a Certified Community Wildlife Habitat by the NC Wildlife Federation and the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). Your well-behaved leashed dog is welcome to roam the trails with you.
