About
Explore history in this exquisitely furnished house museum built in 1852. Enjoy the rare chance to see upper-class life in Victorian Wilmington. Over 600 historic objects (including furniture, jewelry, ephemera, tableware, tools) can be viewed on guided tours. The tours contain stories about the three generations of the Timer Family who lived in the 11 rooms, allowing you to step back in time to a more elegant era. This home has a small gift shop, and has housed the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society since 1963.
Add a ghostly twist to your visit with their newest tour, Shadows in the Parlor, every Friday, which explores the haunted history of Latimer House with a hands-on paranormal experience for guests.
